General terms of use

The entity that owns this website is the Directorate-General of the National Geographic Institute, part of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, with its headquarters at Calle General Ibáñez de Íbero, No. 3, Madrid. The website is managed and maintained by the Public Body National Centre for Geographic Information (CNIG) of the National Geographic Institute (IGN).

The content of this website is protected by the corresponding intellectual property rights.

The CNIG reserves the right to make changes to the portal without prior notice, in order to update, correct, modify, add or remove content from the portal or to modify its design.

This website contains links to external pages over which the CNIG has no control and therefore assumes no responsibility for the content that may appear on such sites. Likewise, the CNIG disclaims all liability for any damage or loss that may arise from the use of the tools or information contained on this website.

Intellectual and industrial property rights

Both the design of the Portal and its source code, as well as the logos, trademarks and other distinctive signs appearing on it, belong to the CNIG and are protected by the corresponding intellectual and industrial property rights.

The information available on this website, unless expressly stated otherwise, may be reused. Its total or partial reproduction, modification, distribution and communication, for commercial and non-commercial purposes, are authorised, subject to the following conditions:

  • Any distortion or misrepresentation of the information content is prohibited under all circumstances.
  • The user is required to cite the source of the documents, images and materials subject to reuse, using the following wording:

Exclusion of liability

The use of data sets shall be carried out by users or reuse agents at their own risk and responsibility, and they alone shall be liable to third parties for any damage that may arise from such use.
